BEST BEACHES IN CALIFORNIA FOR VACATION

Sunny days, irresistible beaches, surfing spots, what’s there to not love about Southern California? This paradisiacal state of America is home to some of the breathtaking beaches in the world. Whether you are looking for family-friendly beaches or secluded beaches away from the crowds, you will surely find literally any kind of beach in Southern California. While you cannot visit all of them in one go if you are visiting South California for a few days, here are the

Top 5 best beaches you can see in a short span of time:

1. Santa Monica Beach

One of the most popular beaches in Southern California is Santa Monica. The beach is often frequented by swimmers and surfers. In addition to the activities, the beach offers stunning views from the pier, especially when the sun goes down. There is an amusement park and an aquarium surrounding the beach to entertain the visitors, especially kids. Take your beach getaway to a whole new level through a scenic bike ride by the sea. You’ll find plenty of bike rentals around the beach.

2. El Matador Beach

Undoubtedly, El Matador is one of the most breathtaking beaches in the region. The beach is surrounded by stunning rock formations. There are many hidden coves offering secluded areas where you can just sit and enjoy some peace of mind away from the hustle and bustle of cities. The best way to enjoy El Matador Beach is to plan a picnic here. Bring some food and a blanket with you as it gets cooler sometimes due to the waves. You can avail free street parking in the early morning hours; otherwise, you’ll have to pay $9 for the parking.

3. Venice Beach

Head out to Venice Beach and enjoy the party scene with picturesque landscapes all around you. You can find anything from artists to weightlifters to sand sculptors performing on the popular Ocean Front Walk. Additionally, the Boardwalk is surrounded by many fast-food spots, shops, and flea markets. Besides sunbathing, you can enjoy plenty of sports here, such as basketball, tennis, and volleyball, among many others. The courts are totally free for public use. There is so much to see and do at Venice Beach that you won’t get bored and would want to come again!

4. Zuma Beach

If there is a beach that is mainly dedicated to surfers, it is Zuma Beach. The beach hosts surfing events every year where surfers from all across the world come to participate. If you are an inexperienced surfer, beware of the rip currents. There are also lifeguards patrolling the beach all day, especially during the summer season – peak surfing town. If you are not into surfing, there is a ridge near the beach where you can hike to watch seals and dolphins. Just walk towards the south side of the beach, taking you to the hill.

5. La Jolla Cove

If one has to pick one iconic beach in Southern California, it would be La Jolla, without any doubt. The La Jolla Cove is the smallest yet picturesque beach in the region. The beach is so clear that you can look about 30 feet underwater. That’s why it is quite popular among scuba divers and snorkelers. It is also a part of the Underwater Park Ecological Reserve which means you are not allowed to use boogie boards or surfboards here. Luckily, you can witness the sight of marine life in water, such as yellowtail, rays, garibaldi, and even leopard sharks sometimes. As the water is cold here, swimming is not recommended for beginners.
